Chalet Olympus, Les Arcs 2000
Chalet Olympus is one of our largest apartments within the Altitude residence, where we run nine other chalet apartments, each one with its own dedicated host, yet all benefitting from the added bonus of the shared facilities, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, ski-lockers, and a small bar too.
Situated on the fifth floor of the building, the accommodation is all on one level with six comfortable bedrooms, each of which has an en suite bathroom and a balcony, from where stunning views can be enjoyed of the valley below.
The living and dining area is one large, inviting space with the wood-panelled walls and traditional style of pine Alpine furniture providing a cosy ambience, as well as the fireplace. The room also has a TV and a balcony to soak up more views over the resort.
The location here will be extremely appealing for families, as you get the best of both worlds with ideal ski access and proximity to our childcare rooms. Reaching the slopes is quick and easy by taking the short button lift only 100m away from the main entrance, and from there skiers quickly connect to the wider lift system. What’s more you can ski back to this same point at the end of the day!
As for childcare it is all located in an adjacent residence, the Chalet de L’Ours, only 80m away and accessible via a connecting underground corridor. Children in our childcare programme, and our accompanying staff, will use this chalet as well as Chalets McKinley and Monte Bianco over the lunch period 12-2pm.
Breakfast – is served buffet-style with a selection of cold options including a choice of cereals or porridge, cold meats, cheese and preserves, bread (and croissants in France), fruit juices, tea and coffee and a cooked breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs and beans. On the staff day off, a continental style breakfast is laid out for you to help yourselves in all chalets.
Afternoon Tea – Every day, apart from our staff day off, a home-baked cake and tea and coffee making facilities are laid out for you to help yourself when you return from the slopes.
High Tea for all children under 11 is at 5.30pm. It is served as a 2 course healthy menu, tailored more towards children’s tastes and puréed food is available for infants. Parents are asked to accompany their children under 3, whilst 3-10 years old are supervised by our childcare team.
Evening Meals – Adult dinner is at 7.30pm comprises 3 courses including an appetiser, main dish and dessert. The meal is accompanied by a prosecco apéritif and a choice of red, rose and white wines, culminating with tea or coffee. A 3 course regional speciality menu is served as one of the 6 evening meals in chalets. This varies by country and the French menu includes charcuterie, goat’s cheese salad, tartiflette and tarte tatin, accompanied by the prosecco apéritif and choice of wines.
On Staff Night Off, you and your family have the opportunity to eat out in one of the local restaurants. Ask our staff for any recommendations.
Family Dining – Many parents prefer to enjoy adult-only company over dinner but if it’s important to you to eat dinner altogether as a family, we offer Family Dining when you book the entire chalet for exclusive use. Dinner is then served from 6.30pm with the menu based on our adult dishes with some flexibility for the children’s preferences. There is a supplement of £39 per child for Family Dining.
