Chalet Himalaya, Les Arcs 2000
Overview
Chalet Himalaya is a chalet apartment on the eighth floor within the Altitude residence, in an ideal position in the resort. Like our other chalet apartments here, the accommodation is comfortable and traditional with Alpine-style furnishings and wood panelling being a feature throughout. The four bedrooms are cosy, yet well planned, with good storage space, en suite bathrooms and two also have their own balcony. The living/dining area is open-plan with the fireplace adding to the ambience and there is also a TV/DVD and free Wifi access.
The advantage of being on this top floor is the wonderful views over the surrounding valley and peaks, and a lift leads you almost to the door, with just one small flight of stairs to take.
Ski access is simple from here with a button lift only 100m from the main entrance on the fourth floor, allowing skiers direct access to the excellent range of slopes and Les Arcs’ entire lift system, and even better you can ski back to within a minute’s walk of here too!
Excellent extra facilities complete the appeal of this apartment with an indoor pool, shared sauna, ski lockers, ski room, underground parking and small bar all available to the Himalaya’s guests.
Organising the family each day is also made easier thanks to the proximity of our childcare rooms, which are all based in an adjacent building, the Chalets de L’Ours, and can be reached via an underground corridor.
Meals:
Breakfast – is served buffet-style with a selection of cold options including a choice of cereals or porridge, cold meats, cheese and preserves, bread (and croissants in France), fruit juices, tea and coffee and a cooked breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs and beans. On the staff day off, a continental style breakfast is laid out for you to help yourselves in all chalets.
Afternoon Tea – Every day, apart from our staff day off, a home-baked cake and tea and coffee making facilities are laid out for you to help yourself when you return from the slopes.
High Tea for all children under 11 is at 5.30pm. It is served as a 2 course healthy menu, tailored more towards children’s tastes and puréed food is available for infants. Parents are asked to accompany their children under 3, whilst 3-10 years old are supervised by our childcare team.
Evening Meals – Adult dinner is at 7.30pm comprises 3 courses including an appetiser, main dish and dessert. The meal is accompanied by a prosecco apéritif and a choice of red, rose and white wines, culminating with tea or coffee. A 3 course regional speciality menu is served as one of the 6 evening meals in chalets. This varies by country and the French menu includes charcuterie, goat’s cheese salad, tartiflette and tarte tatin, accompanied by the prosecco apéritif and choice of wines.
On Staff Night Off, you and your family have the opportunity to eat out in one of the local restaurants. Ask our staff for any recommendations.
Family Dining – Many parents prefer to enjoy adult-only company over dinner but if it’s important to you to eat dinner altogether as a family, we offer Family Dining when you book the entire chalet for exclusive use. Dinner is then served from 6.30pm with the menu based on our adult dishes with some flexibility for the children’s preferences. There is a supplement of £39 per child for Family Dining.
