Chalet Camelia, La Rosiere
Overview
Chalet Camelia is on the third floor of the Ferme d’Elisa building where we have four chalet apartments, each with their own chalet host. Guests return year after year due to the comfortable family suites and rooms, central location, and in-house childcare. Being on one of the upper floors the views of the stunning Tarentaise valley are also part of the appeal, as well as the fact that you can ski back to the chalet.
The interior style is influenced by classical Alpine design mixed with more modern comforts, and a feature fireplace with exposed stone and large chimney is the focal point in the lounge. Large French doors add brightness to the space and open onto the generous balcony with those fabulous views.
Children will appreciate their very own Children’s Snug on the fourth floor of the residence, which is accessed via a central stairway used by all guests in the building. As this room is unsupervised, please keep an eye on your children and remember to bring your family’s favourite DVDs.
Please note that Snow Club and Nursery children and their accompanying staff will use the dining area and communal wc in these chalets between 12 and 2pm each day.
Meals:
Breakfast – is served buffet-style with a selection of cold options including a choice of cereals or porridge, cold meats, cheese and preserves, bread (and croissants in France), fruit juices, tea and coffee and a cooked breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs and beans. On the staff day off, a continental style breakfast is laid out for you to help yourselves in all chalets.
Afternoon Tea – Every day, apart from our staff day off, a home-baked cake and tea and coffee making facilities are laid out for you to help yourself when you return from the slopes.
High Tea for all children under 11 is at 5.30pm. It is served as a 2 course healthy menu, tailored more towards children’s tastes and puréed food is available for infants. Parents are asked to accompany their children under 3, whilst 3-10 years old are supervised by our childcare team.
Evening Meals – Adult dinner is at 7.30pm comprises 3 courses including an appetiser, main dish and dessert. The meal is accompanied by a prosecco apéritif and a choice of red, rose and white wines, culminating with tea or coffee. A 3 course regional speciality menu is served as one of the 6 evening meals in chalets. This varies by country and the French menu includes charcuterie, goat’s cheese salad, tartiflette and tarte tatin, accompanied by the prosecco apéritif and choice of wines.
On Staff Night Off, you and your family have the opportunity to eat out in one of the local restaurants. Ask our staff for any recommendations.
Family Dining – Many parents prefer to enjoy adult-only company over dinner but if it’s important to you to eat dinner altogether as a family, we offer Family Dining when you book the entire chalet for exclusive use. Dinner is then served from 6.30pm with the menu based on our adult dishes with some flexibility for the children’s preferences. There is a supplement of £39 per child for Family Dining.
