St Anton Ski Holidays

World wide ski accommodation and services.

General Overview

St Anton in the Austrian Alps is a world-renowned ski resort known for its challenging terrain, lively après-ski scene, and picturesque setting surrounded by stunning mountains. With over 300 kilometers of meticulously groomed slopes that weave through beautiful mountain landscapes, St Anton, part of the Arlberg ski area in Western Austria, is suitable for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. However, what the resort is really known for is being home to some of the best off-piste skiing in the Alps. Divided roughly into the three areas, the Valluga area is the heart of the ski area offering a variety of slopes for all levels. The Rendl area to the south of the resort provides more challenging terrain, whereas the Stuben area to the north of the resort is a great place to find off-piste skiing.

Ski Info

Situated in one of Europe’s snowiest locations, St. Anton ski resort is renowned for its piste variety, offering runs that cater to beginners, intermediates, and experts alike. From gentle nursery slopes to challenging black runs, every skier will find their perfect descent here. While St Anton is suitable for skiers and snowboarders of all levels, it is a more challenging resort than some of the other resorts in the Alps. Beginners should stick to the Valluga area, while intermediates and experts can explore the other areas of the resort. For those seeking a challenging skiing experience, there are steep couloirs, mogul fields, and the legendary Valluga descent to take on. Not to mention the wealth of off-piste ski routes to explore with powder-laden bowls, expansive backcountry, and thrilling steep slopes. St Anton is also a great place for snowboarders with dedicated snowboard areas, such as the Snowpark and the Freeride Area.

Nightlife

St. Anton exudes traditional Tyrolean charm, quaint architecture, cosy chalets, and an inviting atmosphere. Did we mention that it has a legendary après-ski scene? Regarded as being one of the earliest proponents of the après ski experience, today revellers can still party in the two infamous bars: The MooserWirt and The Krazy Kanguruh – just don’t over do it in the bar as you have to ski down a red run to get back to town.

Eating Out

One of the loveliest places to eat out in St. Anton am arlberg is The Museum, an elegant building constructed in 1912. Or for a taste of where the locals go, head to Haus Schindler for locally sourced traditional cuisine accompanied by delicious Austrian wine.

Activities

While St Anton is first and foremost a snow sports resort, beyond the slopes non-skiers still have plenty to engage in. During the day the village is lively and non skiers can access the mountain restaurants by cable car, or, if you’re feeling physical on foot. You can also enjoy serene winter walks and horse-drawn sleigh rides, or luxurious spa treatments and cultural experiences.

Travel Info

Just two hours away from three international airports, the transfers to St Anton are usually seamless. Fly into Innsbruck airport, Zurich Airport, or Munich Airport.
